Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Cleaning and Detox

DSC05037

As Founder/CEO of Breast Wishes Fund, I speak with people every day about food as medicine for both treatment and prevention of cancer and disease. On a personal note, I recently commemorated my ten-year breast cancer diagnosis date. My path did not include surgery, so I have lived with my tumor, trying to understand why it sleeps and why it wakes.

Upon diagnosis, I found many answers to my questions in Ayurveda. This ancient system of healing originated in India and utilizes diet, detoxification and purification techniques for treatment of disease.  In Ayurveda, the focus is on eliminating excess ama (undigested food that turns into a morbid, toxic sticky substance) and dosha (psycho-physiological functional principals of the body which when out of balance create disease). This detoxification process is called Panchakarma.

Last year, I decided to do a treatment in India and believe it was effective in removing excess ama and mucus from my upper body, breast cancer tumor site, and head. This type of purge has also been a catalyst towards letting go of emotional grief.

Additionally, I believe personalized cancer vaccine has contributed greatly to my improved immune function. This short video,”What is a Cancer Vaccine?”  gives you more information about this option. Since doing the vaccine, my immune system has had an opportunity to regain strength by avoiding consistent full-blown cancer episodes.

Panchakarma and regular cleansing have enhanced my healing even more. Cleansing has improved my hormone function, decreasing my ageing symptoms greatly.  My skin looks and feels plump, hydrated and smooth.  I love the healthy juice combinations that Verde is offering. I gravitate towards anything with wheat grass, which is such a simple and effective detoxifier, and I like that Verde’s organic wheatgrass is locally grown all year round. The Verde Juice Cleanse is a great way to jump start a healthy new routine for yourself, and I am grateful that throughout the month of October Verde is donating a portion of their cleanse sales to Breast Wishes.

Whatever your method, it’s the perfect time of year to feed yourself better to prevent disease and feel great right NOW!

With deep love and gratitude,
