Grab-and-go meals at Verde are crafted for optimum nutritional value, using only the highest ingredients.

Juice

What is cold-pressed juice?

Cold-pressed juice is the highest quality juice available, made by grinding fruits and vegetables into a pulp at a low RPM and then squeezing the juice from the pulp under 2,000 pounds of pressure.
Raw juice made in a hydraulic cold-press never undergoes extreme conditions. It isn’t heated up, or shredded by a high-speed blade and air isn’t blasted through it. Heat and oxidation caused by other juicing methods kill live enzymes and destroy sensitive micronutrients, especially the phytonutrients found in leafy green vegetables.

Cold-pressed juice is the only green juice that can be bottled and stored for 72 hours without preservatives. Every delicious bottle of juice is packed with over two pounds worth of fresh organic produce. The nutrients, amino acids, minerals and live enzymes remain intact because of the gentle and slow methods only obtained with hydraulic cold-press.

Is it organic?

Yes. Verde buys from organic growers, but we feel that organic certification isn’t good enough. We actively seek out partnerships with local and sustainable growers, who hold themselves to higher standards like conserving water resources, treating workers fairly, and using only ecologically sound farming practices.

What is the shelf life of Verde Juice?

Verde Juice is not pasteurized and has a shelf life of 3 days.

What is the Verde Juice Cleanse like?

The Verde Juice Cleanse provides 1,150 calories per day, and 42 grams of protein. It is particularly high in potassium, magnesium, manganese and fiber. There are only 14g of added sugar in the Verde Juice Cleanse, which comes from a touch of organic grade B maple syrup and a kiss of local honey. The Verde Juice Cleanse is $54/day and we recommend reserving your cleanse 24-hours in advance.

Why is raw juice better?

Almost all juice available on the market shelf is pasteurized, which involves heating the juice to slow spoilage. Even HPP brands that call themselves cold-pressed juice and are sold in grocery stores undergo processing to achieve a 45-day shelf life.

Processing juice destroys the living enzymes and healthy bacteria that are normally present in raw juice. Sensitive micronutrients are also eliminated. Some sources report as much as a 65% reduction of vitamin C levels in pasteurized juice. Antioxidant activity is dramatically reduced and proteins are denatured by heat exposure. In short, processed, grocery store juice is “dead” juice – all the beneficial living components of juice are destroyed.

Sustainability

Is it organic?

Yes. Verde buys from organic growers, but we feel that organic certification isn’t good enough. We actively seek out partnerships with local and sustainable growers, who hold themselves to higher standards like conserving water resources, treating workers fairly, and using only ecologically sound farming practices.

Is your packaging sustainable?

Yes. Verde strives to be a zero-waste business model and we’ve put considerable thought into every aspect of our packaging. Our cold-pressed juice blends are served in 16 oz glass bottles, which we buy back from customers for $0.25 and then reuse. Our to-go packaging is almost all plant-based compostable plastics and we work with the nonprofit organization Reunity Resources in Santa Fe for all of our composting.

Do you compost?

Yes. Verde strives to be a zero-waste business model.  Some of our juice pulp is incorporated into other recipes on the Verde menu, and the rest of it is composted.  We also compost nearly all of our packaging materials.  We are proud to partner with the local nonprofit organization Reunity Resources, as our zero-waste partner.

Do you buy locally?

Yes. Verde Juice buys from local farmers are much as possible. Our local producers are either certified organic or committed to organic practices. Read more here.

Do you pay a living wage?

Yes. Building a sustainable community means paying employees a fair wage. It’s not only the law, it’s our commitment to our team.
